VRSTY TERMS & CONDITIONS 

1.    FEE PAYMENT

              i.        All fees are non-refundable. If a pupil has a long-term illness or injury, fees may be refunded at the principal’s discretion. This does not include minor illness or holidays taken during the term.

             ii.        We don't issue refunds for missed sessions due to your own circumstances. However, if any sessions are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, VRSTY will offer a make-up session, or a refunded will be issued. 

            iii.        1.1) Subscription payment is taken the 1st day of the month and is a divided payment of the weeks in the running term. Therefore, no matter if it is a four week month, five week month or the term ends in the middle of a month, monthly payment amount will remain the same. If payment is unsuccessful, it will be tried again 3 days later, if unsuccessful again, it will be tried again 5 days later from the previous attempt. An email will be sent to prompt one to update failed card payment. If payment still has not been made after 15 days, subscription will be cancelled. Please contact us if there are any issues with payment and we will try and sort something out.

           iv.        1.2) The above statement also applies to term payments which are also taken on the first.

             v.        Full membership is not confirmed until payment has been received.

           vi.        Your child is entitled to a free trial if it is their first time. Once you have trialled you cannot trial again at a later date should you chose not to join straight away.


2.    WITHDRAWAL POLICY

              i.        For students wishing to no longer attend classes at VRSTY, please give a full-term cancelation notice. A cancelation fee of 50% of a term’s payment will be charged if notice has not been provided.

             ii.        VRSTY reserve the right to remove students from our program, without refund, anyone who is found to be bullying, misbehaving, or displaying disruptive behaviour.

 


3.    HEALTH

              i.        Please notify us of any medical issues or learning difficulties that may affect your child’s learning, however big or small it should be. This can help us to help them.

             ii.        Any injuries should be discussed with the teacher prior to, or at the beginning of, class.

            iii.        You must declare all relevant medical conditions during registration and keep us up to date should this change by emailing us at - info@vrsty.co.uk

           iv.        You must refrain from bringing your child to class if they have had any form of illness within 48 hours of the class.


             v.        VRSTY or any staff are not responsible for any loss or injury during the class.

 

4.    CLASSES AND ATTENDANCE

                       i.        Students must be on time to class and be picked up on time.

                      ii.        Mobile phones must be silenced and out of sight for the duration of the class.

                     iii.        You must declare if you do not want your child to be photographed for marketing use and keep us up to date should this change using the given email address or phone number.


                    iv.        All classes run back-to-back on the timetable. Students must arrive ready to start their class. Refer to section (7 & 8) appearance and uniform/ behaviour, attitude, etiquette, and decorum (BAED).

 

5.    COVID-19


                       i.        Please follow advice from the NHS and any government updates regarding covid-19.

                      ii.        Students should not attend class if the following applies:

  • Have symptoms of coronavirus
  • Have tested positive for coronavirus
  • Someone in your household has tested positive or has symptoms of coronavirus
  • You are told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace
  • You arrive in the UK from a country with a high coronavirus risk – see GOV.UK: how to self-isolate when you travel to the UK

 

6.    CORRECTIONS

 

                       i.        Dancing is a physical skill and in order to help and facilitate the student’s learning, the teacher may physically guide a movement by touch. This will be in a professional manner and the intention of the contact will be made clear. Please contact us if you have any queries about this.

 

7.    UNIFORM AND APPEARANCE

 

                       i.        We ask all students to wear the recommended uniform for each class (please use uniform list as reference).

                      ii.        Footwear is required for all classes, with exception of contemporary. (Again please use uniform list as reference)

                    iii.        Hair should always be tied back, up and off the face/ neckline. Shorter hair should be held back securely with clips and/or a hair band. Please keep hair neat and tidy.

                    iv.        For safety reasons, jewellery must not be worn in lessons.

                      v.        Uniform ensures students look elegant and feel confident in their surroundings. Please contact us if any questions.

                    vi.        During trial sessions please come in comfortable attire suitable to dance in e.g.; leggings, shorts, t-shirt, trainers and socks. Also section (7, iii & iv) also apply to trials.


8. BEHAVIOUR, ATTITUDE, ETIQUETTE AND DECORUM (BAED)

 

     I.        VRSTY Code of Conduct must be adhered to at all times:


We expect all dancers to:

1.    

·     respect all teaching staff

·     treat all other pupils as you would wish to be treated yourself

·     come to every class with a positive attitude

·     always ask for help if you need it

·     consistently try your best

·     wear correct uniform and footwear

·     ensure hair is neat and tidy.

·     Comply with our zero tolerance/ three strike policy*


    ii.        No food or drink should be brought into class with exception of water.

   iii.        Parents and carers are asked to ensure their children are well behaved at all times whilst getting ready for class and that siblings have an activity to occupy them whilst waiting.

  iv.        Students and parents/carers are expected to demonstrate mutually respectful behaviour to teaching staff, fellow students, and the halls. Poor behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the student being asked to leave the school. Bullying is not tolerated and should be brought to the principal’s or class teacher’s attention immediately.

 

9.    EXAMINATIONS

 

     i.        VRSTY offers examinations for the ISTD syllabus. Entry for any examination is at the discretion of the class teacher and the principal. Parents/Carers and students will be informed when the required level is achieved.

    ii.        Examinations not compulsory but are encouraged.

  iii.        Students wanting to participate in examinations must attend regularly and must attend the required exam rehearsals. Students who do not adhere to our ‘Examination Terms and Conditions’ risk being withdrawn from the examination without a refund (further details will be available upon invitation to take the examination).

10. LOST PROPERTY

              i.        Students are responsible for their own property and bring items at their own risk. VRSTY does not accept responsibility for any items lost or stolen.

11. WATCHING

 

              i.        Parents are not permitted to watch the classes, as this can be distracting for pupils.

             ii.        On the rare occasion if watching a class, parents are asked to refrain from talking photos and to turn mobile phones to silent. All calls should be answered outside the hall.

12. PHOTOGRAPHY

 

              i.        VRSTY occasionally takes photographs and videos of our students for advertisement of the school. The use of these can include our website, social media, and printed material. Please see our consent form for more information.

             ii.        We ask parents to refrain from recording/videoing the class for child protection and copyright reasons.

13. DATA PROTECTION

              i.        All invoices and other materials will be presented via email. Parents/Carers must provide a valid email address for this purpose and ensure that such email from VRSTY is not considered SPAM.

             ii.        The booking and payment system we use is “Class For Kids”. When you give us your details, we promise to keep them secure and not share them with a third party.

            iii.        We may use your data to contact you in relation to;

- News updates about the school

·       Information relating to lessons/exams/show details

·       Invoicing

·       Emergency notifications (such as changes to planned lessons, cancellations etc.)

·       Records of invoices paid and outstanding (and any agreed payment terms)

·       Any other information relevant to the school and your/ your child’s lessons and progress. In addition, we will use any data relating to medical conditions to ensure that we are able to provide a safe environment for you/your child.

           iv.        We should be notified of any change in contact details and/or health issues.

14. MISCELLANEOUS

                               i.        The school timetable may be subject to change. Parents/carers will be notified of any changes.

                             ii.        Dancing is a physical activity and contains a certain amount of risk. Students taking part in any of our classes or events run by VRSTY do so at their own risk.

                            iii.        If students and/or parents break the terms and conditions, they may be asked to leave and no refund given.
